Today is a special article for Valentines Day. Today I’m going to do a Fan Girl Analysis on an episode from the first season of Miraculous Ladybug. It’s the episode where Ken gets his heart broken by Chloe and got targeted by Hawkmoth and turned into, yup you guessed it. Dark Cupid.
This is where the analysis begins. I’m looking at this particular episode for two reasons.
- It shows how frail love can be, and how the slightest phrase or gesture can change everything.
In this episode, this point is showed simply through when Ken gives Chloe the little heart trinket he got for her and she throws it down and this hurts Ken’s feelings quite a bit. Because of this he becomes the perfect target for an Akuma from Hawkmoth. Turning Ken into Dark Cupid.
Where am I going with this? Simple. Dark Cupid’s powers are this: Whomever his arrows hit, will turn that person’s heart “Dark” so to speak. They will have negative feelings towards the one they hold dear.
This is showcasing how when someone that holds affection towards another, be it infatuation or love it can be hurt and “Darkened” quite easily. Especially in the early stages.
But…On the other side of things
- It shows how even in the darkest times, no matter how bad things can get, there is a possibility for love to be strong and thrive. Taking out the darkness.
When Ladybug kisses Chat Noir after he gets shot by one of the arrows–sadly he has no memory of the kiss after, he is returned to his normal, cocky, pun-making self. And they saved Ken and all of Paris as well!
Now what does this show you, my awesome readers may ask? Simple! That even in the toughest situations, the darkest happenstances, if the bond is strong enough; love will prevail.
Well, that’s it for this article! I hope y’all enjoyed my little deduction and thought process on this episode of Miraculous Ladybug!
See you next time….
